Daeran's Basic Stats
Pure Oracle Healer And Summoner Build For Daeran
Animal Companion Build
Melee Skald Build For Daeran
Mystic Theurge Build For Daeran
It can be kinda tricky to work out how to level up your party members in Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous. There are so many options when it comes to certain class features, feats, weapon types, and magic spells. And that's not even including multiclassing.
RELATED: Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous - Best Lann Builds
It can be quite easy to mess up, and it's a costly mistake to make. For that reason, using build guides is a great way to inform your own opinions about building a character, whether you follow them to the letter or not. This is one of them, and it's for the majestic Daeran - a companion you can recruit in Act One by saving him from demons in his own mansion.
Daeran's Basic Stats
Daeran is an Aasimar Oracle. Aasimar are individuals blessed with celestial blood - Daeran is a musetouched Aasimar which means there's Azata blood in his lineage. This gives him useful stat bonuses and access to the Glitterdust spell to cast once a day. He has a ton of Charisma and decent Dexterity, so he can be quite flexible in builds.
Level | Build |
---|---|
1 | Oracle 1: Powerless Prophecy Curse, Life Mystery, Channel Revelation, Cure Spells, Selective Channel |
2 | Oracle 2 |
3 | Oracle 3: Safe Curing Revelation |
It is very clear from this build that Daeran is built to be a healer, despite his alignment and overall attitude. He can channel like a Cleric and with Selective Channel he won't benefit your enemies or hurt any undead allies you might pick up.
Pure Oracle Healer And Summoner Build For Daeran
An Oracle build for Daeran in Pathfinder Wrath of the Righteous
This build leans heavily into Daeran's healing abilities and makes him absolutely fantastic at it. Not only that, but this particular loadout will give Daeran an animal companion and potent summoning spells too. It's heavy on the utility and support, and will likely make Daeran a permanent member of your crew.
Level | Build |
---|---|
4 | Oracle 4: CHA +1 |
5 | Oracle 5: Spell Penetration |
6 | Oracle 6 |
7 | Oracle 7: Greater Spell Penetration, Combat Healer Revelation |
8 | Oracle 8: CHA +1 |
9 | Oracle 9: Extra Revelation: Animal Companion Revelation (Wolf) |
| |
10 | Oracle 10 |
11 | Oracle 11: Spell Focus (Conjuration), Friend to Animals Revelation |
12 | Oracle 12: CHA +1 |
13 | Oracle 13: Augment Summoning |
14 | Oracle 14 |
15 | Oracle 15: Superior Summoning, Enhanced Cures Revelation |
16 | Oracle 16: CHA +1 |
17 | Oracle 17: Greater Spell Focus (Conjuration) |
18 | Oracle 18 |
19 | Oracle 19: Metamagic (Heighten Spell), Spirit Boost Revelation |
20 | Oracle 20: CON +1 |
- In order to take Animal Companion and Friend to Animals, you must first take Second Mystery: Nature as a Mythic Ability. This is what unlocks access to these Revelations.
- Once we have all the spells granted by Friend to Animals, we home in on a summoner build with the Summoning feats. With these and his animal companion, Daeran contributes a significant amount of damage during encounters without having to actively be in the fray.
- We take a point of Constitution at Level 20 as more Charisma wouldn't really affect anything, and more HP doesn't hurt.
- Heighten Spell is used to take advantage of the various crowd control spells Daeran will get, but could be swapped for Greater Spell Penetration if you'd prefer to kit Daeran out with damage spells. In this case, the feat should be taken earlier than Level 19 as Spell Penetration is very important in Wrath of the Righteous.
Mythic Abilities | Mythic Feats |
---|---|
Second Mystery (Nature) | Mythic Channeling |
Abundant Casting | Extra Ability: Improved Abundant Casting |
Ascendant Summons | Spell Penetration (Mythic) |
Greater Abundant Casting | Spell Focus (Mythic) (Conjuration) |
Beneficial Curse (Blackened) | School Mastery (Conjuration) |
- The Nature mystery really helps Daeran by giving him access to an animal companion and the full Summon Nature's Ally spell line, as well as the Barkskin spell which is fantastic.
- Boosting Daeran's Conjuration spells will help with the various crowd control spells that the school has, but you may wish to try and fit in an Expanded Arsenal if you want Daeran to also specialize in Necromancy or Evocation.
- The Blackened Curse is useful for adding a few nice spells to your spellbook, but it does come very late. You can swap its placement with Ascendant Summons if you want access to more offensive tools earlier.
- Boundless Healing can be swapped for Ascendant Summonsor Beneficial Curse if you want even more healing power.

From the Blackened Curse: Burning Hands, Scorching Ray, Burning Arc, Fire Snake, Hellfire Ray |
From Friend to Animals: All “Summon Nature’s Ally” spells |
From Additional Oracle Spells: All “Cure Wounds” spells |
- As you can see, Daeran will have a lot of spells with this build. He gets a lot of really great buffing spells, great crowd control, and some potent offensive options.
- The main stars of the build are the Cure Wounds spells and the Summon Nature's Ally spells - they will likely be the lynchpin of Daeran's mid-battle strategy.
- Make sure you keep a note of which spells Daeran will get automatically, as they will often still pop up when choosing spells upon leveling up. Choosing them here will be a waste of a spell slot.
- The Mass Inflict Wounds spells are a great alternative to any of the fiery options, especially when resistance to fire is so common throughout the game.

Animal Companion Build
Build for a wolf in Pathfinder Wrath of the Righteous
This is a sample build for a Wolf Animal Companion as detailed above. It uses the Bully archetype, which is really great for tripping enemies.
Level | Build |
---|---|
1 | Bully 1: Fury's Fall |
2 | Bully 2 |
3 | Bully 3: Weapon Focus (Bite) |
4 | Bully 4: INT +1 |
5 | Bully 5: Armor Proficiency (Light Barding) |
6 | Bully 6 |
| |
7 | Bully 7: Armor Proficiency (Medium Barding) |
8 | Bully 8: DEX +1 |
9 | Bully 9: Dodge |
10 | Bully 10 |
11 | Bully 11: Improved Critical (Bite) |
12 | Bully 12: DEX +1 |
13 | Bully 13: Critical Focus |
| |
14 | Bully 14 |
15 | Bully 15: Power Attack |
16 | Bully 16: DEX +1 |
17 | Bully 17: Greater Bull Rush |
18 | Bully 18 |
19 | Bully 19: Staggering Critical |
20 | Bully 20: DEX +1 |
- We boost Intelligence by one to let the animal companion gain access to more complex feats.
- Power Attack is later on in the build thanks to the animal companions' rather low attack rolls.
Melee Skald Build For Daeran
A Skald and Mutation Warrior build for Daeran in Pathfinder Wrath of the Righteous
While this may seem a bit left-field for the healing Aasimar, Daeran has fantastic Charisma, good Dexterity, and decent Constitution scores. He can pivot into a Skald quite naturally and wield a finesse weapon quite handily. This build trades magical oomph for a combination of party support in Skald and physical damage in Mutation Warrior, which is a Fighter archetype that borrows some features from Alchemist.
This build opts to give Daeran a Rapier, so he may end up competing with Camellia for the best swords if you use both in the same party. In addition, the build goes for Dazzling Display as an option, and thusly Daeran should level up his Persuasion skill at every given opportunity.
Level | Build |
---|---|
4 | Skald 1: +1 CHA, Spell Penetration |
5 | Skald 2: Weapon Finesse, Weapon Focus (Rapier) |
6 | Skald 3: Guarded Stance |
7 | Skald 4: Fencing Grace (Rapier) |
8 | Skald 5: CHA +1 |
9 | Skald 6: Dazzling Display, Rolling Dodge |
| |
10 | Skald 7: Skill Focus (Persuasion) |
11 | Skald 8: Shatter Defenses |
12 | Skald 9: DEX +1, Reflexive Dodge |
13 | Skald 10: Improved Critical (Rapier) |
14 | Mutation Warrior 1: Critical Focus |
15 | Mutation Warrior 2: Wings, Piranha Strike |
16 | Mutation Warrior 3: DEX +1 |
17 | Mutation Warrior 4: Lingering Performance, Weapon Specialization (Rapier) |
18 | Mutation Warrior 5: Weapon Training (Light Blades) |
19 | Mutation Warrior 6: Advanced Weapon Training: Focused Weapon (Rapier), Staggering Critical |
20 | Mutation Warrior 7: CON +1, Feral Mutagen |
- There is a lot going on in this build, and it gives Daeran a lot of ways to make himself useful during battle. He can use Skald performances, Dirge of Doom, Mutagens, and Dazzling Display - depending on the encounter at hand. That's not including the various spells he can learn.
- Guarded Stance is a good option for Daeran, but you could build a little more offensively and take Demonic Totems instead. These, paired with the Brutality Incarnate and Beneficial Curse (Wolf-Scarred Face) could make for an effective natural weapon build with some further tweaking.
- We take two points in both Dexterity and Charisma, but you could easily go to a +4 in either if you wished.
- Wings are situationally useful as a feat, but you have to admit that Daeran looks cool with them.
Mythic Abilities | Mythic Feats |
---|---|
Abundant Casting | Weapon Focus (Mythic) (Rapier) |
Archmage Armor | Shatter Defenses (Mythic) |
Unrelenting Assault | Improved Critical (Mythic) (Rapier) |
Leading Strike | Weapon Specialization (Mythic) (Rapier) |
Thundering Blows | Piranha Strike (Mythic) |
- While the low-level spells that Daeran gets aren't the best you can get in the game, having lots of casts through Abundant Casting is definitely a boon for him.
- It's important to note that Daeran doesn't get Mage Armor himself, so it's important that he be paired with someone who can cast it on him.
- Shatter Defenses (Mythic) is yet another way that this Daeran build really goes for party support, and should be paired with successful Dazzling Displays whenever possible.
Useful Spells |
---|
Level 1: Remove Fear, Grease, Bless, Unbreakable Heart |
Level 2: Cure Moderate Wounds, Mirror Image, Sense Vitals |
Level 3: Haste, Good Hope, Cure Serious Wounds |
Level 4: Dimension Door |
- While this spell list is severely pared down compared to the other builds we have, there are some standouts.
- Grease is immensely useful and can remain so for much of the game.
- Haste is necessary for practically all parties and having Daeran take responsibility for casting it can free up your full casters.
- Good Hope is a rather rare and potent buff spell.
- Sense Vitals improves Daeran's damage output, so it's very nice to have.
Mystic Theurge Build For Daeran
A Mystic Theurge build for Daeran in Pathfinder Wrath of the Righteous
The Mystic Theurge is a very interesting prestige class available to characters with levels in both arcane and divine casting classes. It lets them gain levels in both disciplines at the same time and grants some extra spells as a bonus.
For the purposes of this build, we choose Crossblooded Sorcerer as our arcane caster. This is a normal Sorcerer archetype that gets fewer spells but gains two bloodlines. We use these to boost fire damage, something the rest of the build capitalizes on.
Level | Build |
---|---|
4 | Oracle 4: CHA +1 |
5 | Crossblooded Sorcerer 1: Point-Blank Shot, Draconic Bloodline (Gold) x2, Elemental Focus (Fire) |
6 | Crossblooded Sorcerer 2 |
7 | Crossblooded Sorcerer 3: Spell Penetration |
8 | Crossblooded Sorcerer 4: CHA +1 |
9 | Mystic Theurge 1: Precise Shot, Oracle Spellbook, Sorcerer Spellbook |
| |
10 | Mystic Theurge 2 |
11 | Mystic Theurge 3: Greater Elemental Focus (Fire) |
12 | Mystic Theurge 4: CHA +1 |
13 | Mystic Theurge 5: Greater Spell Penetration |
14 | Mystic Theurge 6 |
15 | Mystic Theurge 7: Spell Focus (Evocation) |
16 | Mystic Theurge 8: CHA +1 |
17 | Mystic Theurge 9: Greater Spell Focus (Evocation) |
18 | Mystic Theurge 10 |
19 | Oracle 5: Metamagic (Empower Spell) |
20 | Oracle 6: CON +1 |
- This is a pretty basic fire mage build that can very nicely benefit from a lot of the boons that Oracle grants, such as a whole bevy of healing spells and useful buffs.
- While you could choose different bloodlines when you first become a Crossblooded Sorcerer, taking two Draconic Bloodlines of the same element will double up on their bonus to elemental damage. We chose Gold Dragon here because this will boost Daeran's fire damage significantly and it matches him aesthetically.
- Thanks to being a Mystic Theurge build, this Daeran will not get access to Level Nine spells and has to choose which class gets Level Eight spells. We've gone for Oracle here, but it's totally feasible to go for more Crossblooded Sorcerer levels instead if that's your preference.
- Mystic Theurge has some skill prerequisites, so make sure Daeran gets to rank three in Lore (Religion) before hitting Level Nine.
Mythic Abilities | Mythic Feats |
---|---|
Abundant Casting | Spell Penetration (Mythic) |
Improved Abundant Casting | Spell Focus (Mythic) (Evocation) |
Ascendant Element (Fire) | Extra Ability: Second Revelation (Flame) |
Greater Abundant Casting | Sorcerous Reflex |
Boundless Healing | School Master (Evocation) |
- This is another quite basic set of mythic options that should be quite self-explanatory. You may wish to move Sorcerous Reflex a little earlier if you get frustrated by Daeran being staggered at the start of every combat encounter.
Useful Spells |
---|
Level 1: Bless, Burning Hands, Command, Remove Fear, Grease, Mage Armor, Magic Missile, Snowball |
Level 2: Communal Protection from Alignment, Lesser Restoration, Boneshaker, Scorching Ray, Burning Arc |
Level 3: Prayer, Fireball, Create Pit, Archon’s Aura, Burning Arc, Haste, Slow |
Level 4: Controlled Fireball, Mass Enlarge Person, Volcanic Storm, Communal Protection from Energy, Death Ward |
Level 5: Flame Strike, Cleanse, Fire Snake, Restoration, Icy Prison |
Level 6: Elemental Assessor, Burst of Glory, Hellfire Ray, Dragonkind, Undeath to Death |
Level 7: Destruction, Fire Storm, Walk through Space, Communal True Seeing |
Level 8: Shield of Law, Rift of Ruin, Frightful Aspect |
- There is an obvious focus on fire spells here to let Daeran wreak havoc with his buffed damage.
- Other than those listed above, Daeran will have plenty of Cure Wounds spells which will help make up for the fact that his Channel ability is ruined by this build.
- Evocation is a spell school with some neat tricks that aren't just fire spells, including Icy Prison.
